ATLANTA and CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Magnolia Trust Company, a leader in independent trust administration serving high-net-worth individuals and families, announced the addition of Katie Byrum, J.D., as senior vice president and senior trust officer, based in the company’s Chattanooga headquarters.
In her role, Byrum will collaborate with families and their advisory teams to deliver tailored fiduciary solutions that address long-term wealth preservation, legacy objectives, and generational continuity. Her work is grounded in a disciplined, client-first philosophy shaped by extensive experience across trust administration, legal strategy, and governance.
Byrum brings more than 20 years of experience in trust and estate services, with a career marked by thoughtful stewardship and an ability to guide families through multifaceted planning decisions. Prior to joining Magnolia Trust Company, she spent over 10 years at First Horizon Bank as Vice President and Senior Trust Relationship Manager, where she was responsible for trust administration, estate settlement, and professional investment management relationships. She previously served as a Trust Officer at SunTrust Bank and as Privacy Officer for CHI Memorial Hospital, roles that strengthened her expertise in compliance, risk management, and fiduciary best practices.
“Katie brings an exceptional level of insight and professionalism to our fiduciary team,” said Todd McMullen, President and CEO of Magnolia Trust Company. “She understands the responsibility that comes with serving families across generations, and she shares Magnolia’s commitment to thoughtful, relationship-driven, independent trust administration. Her presence in Chattanooga strengthens our ability to provide best-in-class service to Chattanooga families.”

Deeply engaged in the Chattanooga community, Byrum serves on the boards of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera and the CHI Memorial Foundation. She also sits on the Finance Committee for the Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga.
“I’m honored to join Magnolia Trust Company and a team that places such a strong emphasis on independence, collaboration, and client-centered service,” said Byrum. “Magnolia’s model allows trust officers to focus on what matters most – serving families thoughtfully, anticipating complexity, and helping preserve what clients value across generations.”
